Morsels of Sunshine

Updated: Jan 20

As a young one, I wanted to grow up to be a choreographer. I spent many weekends crafting dances to the '90s newest pop hits. After hours of studying music videos, then adding my own spin, I'd teach my friends in preparation for the annual middle school dance contest. I was (and am!) proud of myself for traversing through the anxiety to dance in front of people who weren't my sisters. Piecing together steps to music brought morsels of sunshine to my childhood. As I begin Fluid Journey, I see a bridge to my younger self's fear and deep desire to safely share what is healing. Though how I dance is more free form now, as a part of my Reiki practice, I have a chance to choreograph mindful spaces for relaxation, reflection, and personal healing. Thank you for sticking with me while I place the pieces together. Love and solidarity, AmariYah
